ID+A is located
along the diverse row of teahouses and restaurants on Wu Chuan
West 4th Street, near the Taiwan Museum of Art. This stylish,
modern building, with its glass facade and swanky-looking
interior, has customers wondering if it's a cafe, restaurant
or lounge bar. In fact, it's a little of all three, although
the emphasis is on dining. Offered dishes, designed by well-known
local 5-star hotel chef, includes Western-style Japanese cuisine,
like Honey-Roasted Chicken Fillet (NT$330) or Sakura Salmon
Fillet (NT$380). There are also good pastas, curries, like
the Vanilla Curry Rice (NT$230) or Red Wine Beef Fillet Curry
(NT$450), and European-style dishes like the Provencal Chicken
(NT$580) or Italian-Style Lemon Fish (NT$620). Each week,
there is a fresh NT$179 business lunch and a NT$119 afternoon
tea time. Although the kitchen is open to midnight, ID+A becomes
a lounge bar after 9 p.m. Customers love sitting on the sofas
upstairs, or enjoying the view from the outdoor balcony tables,
with a drink and some lounge or jazz music. Thanks to the
owner's passion for single-malt Scotch whiskies, this place
has what may be the island's largest collection of single-malts--well
over a 100 labels (which the bartender can explain to drinkers).
There are also fine wines, cigars and other drinks.
