Is it just me or has the weather been extremely humid and stuffy? It feels as if we are constantly living in a giant sauna, baking us till we are cooked. Thank goodness for good news – mango ice is back! Mango ice is that soft, puffy mountain of pureed ice topped with a mound of fresh mango cubes and a generous amount of condensed milk. As if the mountain isn’t big enough, you are able to top it all off with a ball of ice-cream. Everything ranges from NT$70 to NT$90. Mr. Liu, the owner, especially emphasizes on the freshness of the fruits. All the freshly squeezed juices are made 100 percent from real fruit and, believe it or not, not a drop of water is added. Give it a try and you will. What is even more amazing is that all 500C.C-worth of fresh juices range from NT$20 to NT$40! Ice Town is easy to find – between Dalien Road and Lio-Chuan Southwest Street, on Shin-An Road. Whether or not you live close, come on to Shin-An Road for some mango ice. --By Catherine Liu, Translated by Teresa Cheng
