MoLin Secondhand Bookstore

(06) 235-1135
53, DaSyue Rd., B1, Tainan City
Hours: 10 am-10:30 pm

Located across the road from the entrance to National Chengkung University's main campus and less than 100 meters from the rear entrance to Tainan's train station, MoLin Secondhand Bookstore has a selection of books in Chinese, English and Japanese that is broad if not huge. There are plenty of novels--everything from Louis Cha's martial arts stories to John Grisham's legal thrillers--plus non-fiction volumes about history, the arts, politics, and science. The cookery section is especially strong, and there are quite a few guidebooks in English and Chinese. Compared to some of the other bookstores in this neighborhood, relatively few of the books here are academic tomes, so ordinary folk--not only students--will find dropping by and browsing a worthwhile experience. Secondhand but usually good-as-new books are priced at 40 to 60 percent of their original cost. --By Steven Crook, translated by Annie Liu
