       DNA, a landmark dance venue in Kaohsiung, has had a makeover. Among the improvements are two additional semi-private booths, an upgraded sound system, better lighting, and bigger, better bathrooms. The DJs have been relocated behind the bus facade, making more space for guests. According to DNA owner Dermo, the changes--which include a slew of new food options, among them several Chinese dishes--are intended to entice customers to arrive earlier in the evening, and create a more pub-like atmosphere. On Fridays and Saturdays, DNA will get underway earlier than the previous 9 pm door-opening; there'll also be a Sunday Filipino Session starting at 2 pm. More than NT$300,000 has been spent on the renovations and improvements, so if you've not been to DNA for a while, head over--you're bound to have a pleasant surprise and be impressed. --By Steven Crook Translated by Christine Wang
