Originally
a small diner, WanShan has been transformed into a
100-plus table hotspot that somewhat resembles a warehouse.
If you take the ferry from SiZihWan to ChiJin, after
a 15-minute scooter ride you'll see the windmill park
on the right, while WanShan is in the alley on the
left. Just follow the crowd, which often includes foreigners.
You can enjoy the buffet-style seafood dishes by buying
NT$100 coupons from the reception counter. Unused coupons
can be returned for a refund. WanShan is divided into
several areas such as Cold Dishes (featuring sashimi),
Fried Dishes, Grilled Dishes, Fresh Fish Soups, and
Tobacco/Liquors/Beverages. Each dish is NT$100--except
for specials like Chin-Lung Salmon from Australia (NT$150),
and Angel Tear, a kind of mushroom which sprouts in
rain, and is served as a salad, fried, a jelly, or
cooked with flour and water. It's said to reduce cholesterol
and enhance circulation. The owners of WanShan are
a couple who admit they can't count well--that's why
they decided to offering each dish for NT$100!
