As you pass through ShiTzeWan University and
keep driving along the road on the ocean side of Monkey Mountain,
look out for an exit marked with an arch and yellow flags
that say "Baby Home Coffee Shop". Keep going down
the steep winding road that runs between houses and keep following
the yellow flags. Baby Home Coffee Shop is actually called
Pebble Stone Restaurant. It is a covered terrace located right
on the water at a small fishing boat launch, which can accommodate
up to 200 people. For a mere NT$200 you can enjoy beef, pork,
freshly caught fish, vegetables and a drink. For NT$300 per
person, owner Bobo will fire up the barbeque and sound system
(bring your own CD's if you want). They sell beer (Heineken
NT$70), coffees (NT$100), teas and juices. Beautiful sunsets
and cool ocean breezes make this the ideal place to host a
private party, or simply go for a romantic dinner. Bobo doesn't
speak English, so ask a Chinese-speaking friend to call her
and odds are she will accommodate even the most outrageous
requests at surprisingly low prices.
