On the corner of MingHua and FuMin roads
in ZuoYing, you'll find one of the four China Bakery locations
in Kaohsiung. This bakery may be small, but it has a good
reputation and is stacked in terms of variety. It has a large
selection of buns, sandwiches, cookies, pastries and cakes,
all competitively priced. They also have a freezer full of
colorful and festive-looking whole cakes, including fruit
and mocha variations, and a good-looking cheesecake. There
are nine different types of bread - all of your regulars and
a few new ones. The buckwheat comes recommended. They also
make specialty coffees, which you can enjoy while sitting
outside in the sun or shade. English-speakers should note
that China Bakeries offer no English menus. Also, if you are
looking to fulfill your chocolate cravings, the selection
is limited. Luckily there are more than enough treats to satisfy
any sweet tooth.
